Situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Glan Soch Cottage on the Lleyn Peninsula is a self contained stable wing of a 17th century farmhouse. The surrounding area is ideal for walkers, cyclists or surfers and our luxury cottage also provides excellent accommodation for families on a relaxing break. Accommodation includes a furnished paved garden with a BBQ and country views. Look out for our resident barn owls! In the winter months, the comfortable lounge with a roaring log fire is the ideal place to relax after a day spent at one of the nearby sandy beaches.
Living SpaceThe spacious lounge has a feature inglenook fireplace fitted with a clearview wood burning stove. There is also a flat screen TV with Freeview service, plenty of books, an antique piano, comfortable lounge seating for four and a staircase leading to the first floor.
A door leads through to the large kitchen/ diner with table and six chairs. Modern self catering facilities include an electric fan oven, hob, fridge/ freezer, dishwasher, microwave, kettle and toaster.
A large utility room houses the washing machine, sink, indoor pulley washing line and ironing facilities.
Tea towels and oven gloves are supplied for your use.Bedrooms / BathroomsBedroom one has a super king size zip and link Hypnos bed which can be presented as two singles on request.
There is a further twin bedroom with two 4'6" beds which has a double glazed door leading to the balcony and stone steps to the garden. This room sleeps two.
The shower room is located between the two bedrooms and there is a ground floor family bathroom with bath, free standing shower, WC and hand basin.
There is one bath mat supplied in each bathroom.Outside
The cottage has a paved courtyard garden with quality wood seating area and beautiful panoramic views over the surrounding countryside. There is also a barbecue, plenty of off road parking plus storage for bikes, surf boards and kayaks. The outdoor tap is ideal for rising off sandy and muddy gear.
Other Things to Note
Complimentary tea, coffee, sugar, fresh milk and homemade bara brith (Welsh fruit cake) is provided for your arrival.
Beds are made up for your stay and we provide one hand and bath towel per person. Guests are requested to bring their own beach towels.
The cottage is stocked with an initial supply of wood for the fire and the rental charge includes electricity, oil fired central heating and instant hot water.
A range of local information, books and games are provided for your use.
Pets Welcome By Arrangement
Two well behaved dogs are welcome by prior arrangement and charged at £30 per week each. Numbers are limited according to breed/ size and dogs must be of a friendly and sociable nature as we have pets. Dogs must not be left alone in the cottage at any time.
The changeover day is Saturday and prices range from £469 to £799 per week.
Check in time is from 4pm and check out time is by 10am.
Around and About
The attractions and amenities of Abersoch can be found 3.3 miles away and we are one mile each of Porth Neigwl (Hells Mouth) - a three mile sandy beach which is a haven for surfers and other water sports. Nearby villages include Llanengan and Llangian or visit the beaches at Llanbedrog, Aberdaron, Nefyn, Morfa Nefyn, Whistling Sands and Porth Ceiriad. The surrounding countryside is ideal for walkers, cyclists, painters, star gazers and dog walkers.
Situated in the heart of the Lleyn Peninsula Glan Soch Cottage is easily accessible. The two main roads entering the Lleyn Peninsula are the A499 from the north accessed via Bangor and Caernarfon and the A497 from the south accessed via Porthmadog heading into Pwllheli.
From Pwllheli take the A499 towards Abersoch, pass the ‘Welcome to Abersoch’ sign and proceed down the hill, at the bottom turn right by the ‘Land & Sea’ Boat Garage and continue uphill for 1 mile passing caravan sites to left & right then turn left downhill sign posted Llangian, Porth Neigwl (Hells Mouth)
Continuing through this quaint village passing a church on your left, within ½ a mile go straight on at the junction towards Porth Neigwl (Hells Mouth) (DO Not go left over the bridge to Llanengan) winding along the country lane for about a mile slow down and turn right when large stone farmhouse appears ahead, we are another ½ a mile down this road.
