Around and About
Loadbrook is a peaceful hamlet on the Yorkshire/Derbyshire border in the Peak District National Park. Nearby attractions include spectacular stately home estates like Chatsworth, Haddon Hall and Wentworth.
The Derwent Valley is within easy reach and spectacular walks in the Peaks are just on your doorstep. Sheffield's many attractions are a short drive away and the B&B is ideal for guests visiting the Sheffield Arena, City Hall, Universities or Meadowhall.
Leave the M1 at J33 and continue into Sheffield. From Sheffield, initially take the A61N and then the A57 (Glossop). The last buildings as you leave Sheffield on the A57 are the Bell Hagg pub and, opposite, the Valleyside garden centre. About ¾ mile later, take the first right (Rails Road). Go straight across at the cross-roads and continue up Rails Road until you enter Stannington. Immediately after the Stannington road sign, turn left on Reynard Lane. At the T junction, turn left (Upper Gate Road). Follow this road for approx 1½ miles and take the first right turn (signposted Load Brook). Go to the bottom of the hill. As the road bends to the right and you start to go uphill again, the entrance to Load Brook Cottages is on the left by a large tree. There is a sign on the wall.
