270 year old fisherman's cottage Close to 199 Abbey steps About this Holiday Cottage
Situated at the foot of Whitby Abbey's 199 steps, Greenfingers is an exquisite 18th century cottage where guests can immerse themselves in the nautical history of the town. Built a generation before local apprentice Captain Cook embarked on his exploration to Australia around 1768, this property is one of the town's oldest fisherman's cottages set along cobbled Church Street. The beach can be found just a one minute walk away and many of the Whitby's historic attractions can be found within a short stroll.
Set over four floors with steps throughout, the cottage has been superbly restored and boasts wonderful sea-views from the upper windows. Beautiful features include a wood burner stove and the farmhouse-style kitchen is set on the ground floor which has underfloor heating. Modern comforts include free Wi-Fi, Netflix, a dishwasher and washing machine.
Bedrooms / Bathrooms
All three bedrooms boast generous proportions and have a king size double bed. One has an ensuite shower and there is a further family shower room.
The cottage has an attractive enclosed patio garden with outdoor furniture where guests can relax.
