River Bank Cottage is situated in a tranquil location right on the banks of the River Esk, in the picturesque village of Briggswath.
Please note that due to the proximity of the river we do not accept children under the age of 13.
InsideThis former two bedroom Railway Workers cottage sleeps 4 guests, and has been decorated to a high standard throughout.
It has two downstairs living spaces.
A well equipped kitchen/ diner contains a ceramic hob, gas oven, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave and a washer.
The sitting room includes all modern comforts. Relax on the leather sofas in front of the living flame gas fire while watching your Smart TV with Freeview, DVD player with a great selection of DVD, board games and plenty of good reading. Bedrooms / BathroomsUpstairs features a master bedroom with king size bed, 32" TV and a hairdryer.
The second bedroom is a twin which also has a 32" TV, and beautiful views of the garden and river.
The bathroom includes a traditional roll top bath with separate shower cubicle, wash basin, wc and complimentary bathroom products.Outside
Outside living is truly what this cottage is all about. If the sun is out dine right outside in the secluded walled patio or take your lunch to the bottom of the garden, to the summerhouse or onto the balcony and enjoy the ducks and swans floating by. If BBQ food is more to your taste there is a lit patio area too, as well as a large lawn with trees and shrubs to keep you private. Ample secure parking is onsite.

River Bank Cottage has fishing rights and you can fish off the landing for seasonal Salmon, sea trout, brown trout and eels. A fishing permit is needed.

Around and About
The cottage is 3 miles from the fishing Port of Whitby and a 5 minute walk over a foot bridge into Sleights, which has a handy station stop on the Esk Valley Railway. Here you will also find a top class Bakery and Butchers along with two pubs serving food (one also has Sky Sports,), a fish and chip restaurant and a local grocery store. Why not leave the car behind - the bus stop is just a 2 minute walk from your front door and locations including Heatbeat village Goathland in the North York Moors and Robin Hoods Bay on the coast are within easy reach.
