Situated in the heart of the North Yorkshire Moors, Eden House in Pickering is a beautifully appointed Grade II listed cottage retaining a wealth of traditional character and charm. Ideal for couples, the property has been recently refurbished to a high standard throughout and there is an attractive patio with views down to the private walled gardens.
Outdoor enthusiasts are very welcome with a wonderful choice of scenic walks and cycle rides to experience in the surrounding area. Guests can enjoy exploring Dalby Forest or take a scenic ride along the North York Moors Steam Railway. One of the country's most historic stately homes, Castle Howard, can also be found closeby and offers a regular programme events within its 1000 acres of gardens.
Inside
The cosy lounge has a wood burner stove, a two seater sofa, easy chair, a 40" TV with Freeview service, a DVD player and supply of DVDs. The newly fitted kitchen has an electric oven, gas hob, fridge/ freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, slow cooker and microwave. There is also a separate dining area and sun room where guests can relax.
Bedrooms / Bathrooms
The generously appointed first floor bedroom has a king size bed, vaulted ceiling and good storage. There is also an ensuite bathroom which has been fully refurbished and fitted with a power shower over the bath, a WC and hand basin. A radio alarm clock with iPod dock is also supplied.
Outside
French doors from the sun room lead out into a patio garden and outdoor seating area. Secure, off street parking for one car is also provided.
Cyclists and Walkers
The cottage is perfect for walking and cycling breaks and we can happily recommend a fantastic choice of routes and trails to explore. Plenty of secure bike storage can be found onsite and bikes can be hired in nearby Pickering and Dalby Forest. A number of local walking groups offer guided walks throughout the year and we also have a good supply of maps, walking and cycling books, and reference materials for guests to use.

Short breaks of three or four nights may be available during the winter months. The weekly changeover day is Friday or Monday/ Friday for short breaks. Check in time is after 4pm and we have a secure key collection service so late arrival times are welcome. Please vacate by 10am on your departure day.
We may be able to accommodate very young babies (babes in arms) by prior arrangement only. Unfortunately the accommodation is not suitable for older children.

Around and About
The cottage is ideal for exploring the North Yorkshire Moors National Park and just 35 minutes from the historic City of York. Malton Station can be found just twenty minute drive away and nearby Dalton Forest is perfect for exploring both by walkers and cyclists. Other attractions to visit include the NYM Steam Railway or enjoy a day to Whitby, Robin Hood's Bay and Scarborough.
