A charming 4 Star 18th Century barn conversion, The Byres Holiday Cottage at Selside Farm near Horton in Ribblesdale and Settle sits in the heart of Yorkshire Dales Three Peaks Country. Tastefully modernised and furnished to a high standard throughout, this semi-detached Dales stone barn features exposed beams and a cosy open stone fireplace. Spectacular landscapes surround the cottage and a choice of walks are direct from your door. Accommodation sleeps 2 to 6 with space for a cot, and is perfect for families and couples. Discounts are available for 2 people staying during school term time and short breaks are available off peak from November to Easter. One small well trained dog is also welcome in the property.
Living Space (Downstairs)Cottage entrance into a glass fronted porch with slate flooring and storage space for walking boots and outdoor clothing/equipment.
Comfortable lounge with exposed beams, an open coal fire and an electric fire, a flat-screen TV with Sky Freeview, a DVD player and a collection of DVDs, toys and books. The lounge has access out to the rear patio garden.
Large well equipped kitchen with integrated dining area, a fridge, freezer, a washing machine, an electric cooker, a microwave and acccessories including T-towels, a kettle, ironing facilities, a radio and a toaster.
Starter essentials available on arrival include tea, coffee, milk and washing up liquid.
An outbuilding is also available with a tumble dryer and space for storing bikes.
Traditionally furnished dining room with seating for 6, featuring a CD player with a collection of CDs, and a sideboard well stocked with board games and books. The cottage is set back from the road in the courtyard next to the farmhouse and has a private multi level patio with outdoor furniture, a charcoal BBQ and a washing line. There is another smaller sheltered patio seating area at the side of the cottage and next to the parking area is a separate mature, walled, shrubbery garden with lawn and garden furniture.
Other Things to NotePet friendly - 1 small well-behaved dog may be accepted by arrangement, for a small additional charge.
Family friendly - a cot, a highchair, a fire guard, a stair gate, a toilet seat, a step and a selection of toys for children are available.
A secure lockable building is onsite for guest use, containing a tumble dryer and space for storing bikes and drying waterproofs.
Electricity, coal, logs, towels, bed linen, toilet rolls, T-towels and washing up liquid is included in the booking price.Availability
Changeover day for weekly bookings is usually a Saturday, arrival 3pm and departure by 10am.
We offer discounts for two people wishing to book the cottage (during school term time only).

The location in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales Three Peaks area is surrounded by a choice of walking and cycling opportunities and perfect for touring the Yorkshire Dales, the Lake District, the Howgill Fells, the West Coast and the Forest of Bowland.
A choice of scenic footpaths surround the farm, and we are situated close to the Settle-Carlisle Railway with local stations at Horeton in Ribblesdcale and Ribblehead with its famous viaduct. The close proximity of the Settle-Carlisle Railway puts daytrips to Carlisle, Appleby, York and Leeds within easy reach.
Our nearest inns are just 3 miles away at Horton in Ribblesdale or Ribblehead, and a general store is in Horton in Ribblesdale. A wide selection of shops are in the nearby towns of Settle, Ingleton and Hawes.
From the A65 take the road to Settle and pick up the B6479 to Horton-in-Ribblesdale. After 5 miles go through Horton-in-Ribblesdale and on for about 3 miles to Selside. Once in the hamlet look out for a red telephone box on the right. Turn right on the track towards the black and white house (Selside Farm). The Byres is to the left of the black and white house. The owner lives in the right part of the black and white house (Selside Farmhouse). The Byres key is available from here.
