A cosy 18th century cottage retreat for two just 2 miles from Dulverton, Number 10, Brushford sits in a stunning rural location close to the River Barle, on the southern edge of Exmoor. A former farm labourer's home, the cottage is positioned below Brushford village church and has been lovingly restored and recently decorated, featuring a woodburning stove and a welcome hamper on arrival. A real romantic retreat ideal for couples, the property has its own private garden and off road parking. Pets are welcome and a cot and highchair can be made available on request.
Downstairs living space features great attention to detail throughout. The sitting room with underfloor heating contains a comfortable sofa and armchair, a Smart TV and a woodburner.
A fully fitted kitchen is just off the sitting room with an electric oven and induction hob, a fridge freezer, washer dryer, dishwasher, ironing facilities, a hoover, kettle, toaster, a couple of cookbooks for inspiration and all essential cookware and utensils.
Bedrooms / Bathrooms
Upstairs is a luxury double bedroom with a dressing room adjacent, plus a bathroom with underfloor heating, a heated towel rail, wash basin, wc and a bath with a shower attachment.
Outside/ Local Produce
A small herb garden situated at the front of the cottage and a side garden to the right are for your own use only. Seating is provided and guests are welcome to help themselves to herbs.
Free off road parking is available just opposite, adjacent to the number 10 sign. A small shed ideal for bike and outdoor equipment storage is onsite and a hose/ outdoor tap is available, perfect for washing off muddy dogs.
Guests also have shared access (with next door) to a vegetable patch and an orchard with a pond and river. You are welcome to help yourself to seasonal fruit and vegetables from here. We also have free range eggs available in season.

Oil fired heating and electric are inclusive in booking price. Cosy underfloor heating is in the sitting room and bathroom.
Two small dogs or 1 large dog are welcome for an additional charge of £25. Dogs are permitted downstairs only.
A welcome hamper containing local treats and fresh flowers is available on arrival.
All starter essentials including tea, coffee, milk and sugar along with bathroom and kitchen cleaning materials are provided.
Fine French bed linen and fluffy soft cotton towels are supplied for each guest.
A starter basket of logs and kindling are supplied during the winter months. Additional log supplies are available on request - charged at £5 per barrow load.
Strictly non-smoking accommodation throughout.
The property has a gun safe in the bedroom (a key is available on request).

The property is located on the edge of Exmoor National Park in historic Brushford village with a 13th century church. A choice of scenic walks branch out from the village. Dulverton, one of Exmoor's most popular tourist destinations alongside a tributary of the River Exe is just 2 miles away and contains a variety of antique shops, fine inns, restaurants and independent shops. Dunster, Porlock and Lynmouth on the Exmoor Heritage Coast are a mere 10 miles away.
