    Cobden View Holiday Cottage, in the beautiful Forest of Bowland, is surrounded by the stunning scenery of Sabden Valley and Pendle Hill.


    Just look out of the cottage windows to enjoy these glorious countryside views from Cobden View’s hillside setting. Maybe set off on scenic walks or cycle rides, right from the doorstep.


    Families are welcome and the minimum stay is usually three nights. The cottage welcomes well behaved dogs by arrangement. 


    Inside

    The contemporary lounge provides a comfortable, peaceful space for relaxing.


    It has two and three seater leather sofas, feature fireplace with wood burner, flat screen TV with Freeview, a DVD player, games, books and magazines. Enjoy the views across farmland towards Pendle Hill and Sabden Valley from the large windows.


    The well equipped kitchen has a farmhouse style dining table and many modern facilities including a dishwasher, fridge, electric hob and oven. The utility room houses the freezer, microwave and washing machine. Watch the hens, sheep or cattle from the picture windows.


    Bedrooms / Bathrooms

    Both bedrooms look out onto the private, south facing rear garden. The main double bedroom has a king size bed, fitted wardrobes, chest of drawers and bedside tables.


    The twin bedroom has mirrored fitted wardrobes and bedside tables. Both rooms share use of the bathroom with underfloor heating and a stylish four piece suite of a bath, WC, hand basin and large corner shower. .


    Outside

    The cottage is set in its own grounds at Cobden Farm, a hillside working farm with resident hens, sheep and, at times, gentle pedigree Hereford cattle, all grazing or pecking in the neighbouring fields.


    The private south facing rear garden includes decking with table and chairs for al fresco dining. Or simply for relaxing to enjoy the beautiful sunsets that bathe Sabden Valley.


    The public footpath network criss-crosses Sabden Valley and the farm. ‘Going up Pendle Hill’ is a must. Mountain bike routes and the Lancashire Cycleway are nearby.


    Other Things to Note

    The cupboards, fridge and freezer can be stocked with locally sourced produce prior to your arrival - please let us know what you’d like to order the week before you arrive. 


    There’s a traditional drying rack in the utility room which is also big enough to store bikes. There are maps, walking books, plus lots of other information provided.


    A travel cot and wooden high chair are available free of charge. There is free Wi-Fi service. Cobden View has central heating throughout and laminate flooring in the living areas.


    Availability

    Prices generally start from £80 a night for three nights and £300 for a week, both depending on the time of year. Please contact us for our best prices. The minimum stay is normally three nights. We accept well behaved dogs by prior arrangement. 


    Around and About

     Buses run every hour from the bus stop near our farm entrance. Nearest train stations are at Clitheroe and Whalley. Burnley train stations are right miles away.


    Attractions in the surrounding area include Clitheroe Castle, Browsholme Hall, Samlesbury Hall, Chipping Wild Boar Park, Brockholes Nature Reserve and the abbey ruins at both Whalley and Sawley.


    There are plenty of outdoor activities in the surrounding area including fly and trout fishing, golf, crown green bowling, para and hang gliding, horse riding, Gisburn Forest walks and mountain bike trails, Beacon Fell country park and Pendle Ski Slope.


    Visit Dunsop Bridge village – the centre of the kingdom and allegedly the place where the Queen would retire to! You could take a trip to the Boundary Mill, markets at Clitheroe and Skipton, local farmer's markets, craft studios and The Platform Gallery.


    The Forest of Bowland area is big on the ‘foodie’ map with dozens of places to eat, ranging from Michelin star and TV chef to good quality pub grub.


    The Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty has a busy annual calendar of events too. Fantastic walks criss-cross the countryside as well as wonderful road routes that take you to the Bowland Fells, Yorkshire Dales, Pennines and beyond. We are close to the major motorway network, an hour from three main airports. Yet still in some of Britain’s most beautiful countryside.
