No.3 is one of a small row of traditional Lakeland cottages in Elterwater, a welcoming village set amidst outstanding scenery in the Langdale Valley which is a real walkers delight! Excellent eating and drinking places are within walking distance and Ambleside is a short distance away. It was originally a workers’ cottage near the village centre with views of the Fells. The kitchen door at the back opens out onto a small terrace where one can sit out, overlooking private open ground with dramatic views of the Fells in the distance.
InsideThere is a kitchen/dining room with a cooker, a fridge/freezer, a microwave and all essential utensils and crockery.
The lounge is comfortably furnished with traditional Ercol furniture, Freesat TV and a DVD player and a radio with an iPod dock.
Heating is by Economy storage heaters, electric radiators and a cosy fire.
There's also a traditional open slate fireplace for log fires.
The bathroom is small but fully fitted with an over bath electric shower.Bedrooms / BathroomsThe cottage sleeps three in a twin bedded and a small single room. The single room at the back has views of the Fells.Outside
A parking permit is provided and there is parking space to the front of the cottage and nearby. You can leave your vehicle in the village and head off walking in the Fells, along the River, or dine out in one of the many fine inns and eateries in the area.

With its traditional lakeland stone, beamed ceilings, and the basic original features we have retained, the cottage is warm, comfortable and well equipped. We service and maintain it ourselves, and meet our visitors on arrival.

From Ambleside take the A593 to Coniston and Langdale. At the Skelwith Bridge Hotel bear right on to the B5343 signposted Langdale, about 1.5 miles to Elterwater. Take the first turning left after the Cattle Grid, signposted Elterwater. Follow the road through the Common, pass a row of cottages on the left, turn right at the corner; follow the row of cottages on your right. No.3 Main Street is the last but one on the right – the only one with a traditional porch.
