Holiday Cottages in the Peak District

The Peak District is one of the UK’s most spectacular places to visit and a superb holiday destination, whether it’s for a weekend break or a longer family holiday. It’s an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, so the Peak District attracts visitors all year round. They come to soak up the stunning scenery, the wild moorlands and rugged limestone dales, which are liberally peppered with beautiful villages and towns, historic, imposing churches and opulent manor houses. Our extensive range of Peak District Cottages will give you access to all this – and much more.

If the Great Outdoors isn’t enough for you, you can get to grips with what’s below the Peak District, with a trip to the caves at Castleton and Buxton. These are open to the public and you don’t have to worry about safety ropes or squeezing through narrow passages; the tours are guided and on foot. However, if you have an interest in the history of the region, choose one of our Peak District Cottages near the Neolithic stone circles at Stanton Moor or Arbor Low, or the Norman Castle at Castleton.

Are there family attractions in the Peak District?

The short answer is ‘yes’. If you’ve booked one of our holiday cottages in the Peak District and are bringing your children, you’ll find plenty to see and do. Families who like to get out and about can take advantage of the beautiful walks and miles of cycle trails that criss-cross the Peaks. To mix a shot of adrenaline into the proceedings, there’s even the opportunity to go hang-gliding! However, if you’d prefer to be attached to something more trustworthy, the cable cars at the nearby Heights of Abraham pack just as much of a thrill, and some truly amazing views.

To really get an idea of how expansive and scenic the District is, the working steam trains at Peak Rail will take you from Matlock to Rowsley, giving you the chance to take in the scenery from the comfort of a train carriage. Alternatively, the stately Chatsworth House has an adventure playground and the chance to meet some farmyard animals. Whatever you’re looking for in your Peak District holiday, the answer is only a short drive away.
