Yorkshire’s 9 racecourses host over 180 race days annually

Yorkshire is one of England’s top regions for world class horse racing, both flat and jump racing. Experience over 180 days of fun packed racing every year across Yorkshire’s 9 racecourses including Championship Race Days and Festivals like the Yorkshire Ebor Festival in late August at York, plus a host of Ladies Days, Summer and Winter Festivals and Family Days. Race meets are year round at Yorkshire race courses such as busy flat and jump courses Catterick and Doncaster. April is always an eventful racing month in the region, with racing seasons commencing at many Yorkshire racecourses including Beverley, Pontefract, Redcar, Ripon and Thirsk. York’s annual 17 race meets run from May to October.

Yorkshire racecourses offer first class conference facilities and corporate packages. Many are licensed for Civil Wedding ceremonies and alongside race meets, race courses host numerous events, big name pop concerts and tribute bands, themed fairs, exhibitions and festivals including some super vintage and music festivals, as well as tailored events perfect for Stag and Hen Parties, corporate gatherings or family fun days out.

Beverley Racecourse

Beverley Racecourse, East Yorkshire – flat racing, with 19 race meets annually from April to September. Located about 1 mile, within walking distance, from the town centre and Beverley’s famous Minster at historic Beverley Westwood. Warm and welcoming, perfect for new racegoers.

York Racecourse

York Racecourse, North Yorkshire – flat racing with 17 race meets annually from May to October. Award-winning facilities and world class racing is here in the region’s most famous course located just 1 mile from the city centre. From the John Smith’s Cup Meeting in July to the Ebor Festival in August, York’s race meeting calendar is packed with iconic racing events all ideally combined with a wealth of city centre attractions and accommodation within easy reach of the course.

Catterick Races

Catterick Races in North Yorkshire – flat and jump racing with 27 race meets annually from January to December. Catterick is one of Yorkshire’s busiest race courses with racing going on most months.

Doncaster Racecourse

DONCASTER, South Yorkshire, flat and jump racing, another of the region’s busy racecourse with 36 race meetings annually from January to December including the world famous Ladbrokes St Leger Festival week annually in September. Doncaster offers some of the best after racing concerts!

Pontefract Races

Pontefract Races, West Yorkshire – flat racing with 16 meetings annually from April to October. There’s something for all here at this easy access race course just off the M62 and the A1 motorways including family Sundays, evening meets with live music and an annual August Ladies Day.

Redcar Racecourse

Redcar Racecourse, on the northern edge of the North York Moors, flat racing with 18 meets annually from April to November, situated in the heart of the seaside town, a top course for families with feature race the May Bank Holiday Zetland Gold Cup Day.

Ripon Races

Ripon Races, North Yorkshire – flat racing with 16 race meets annually from April to September. Known as Yorkshire’s Garden Racecourse, Ripon is a glorious parkland course, winner of Yorkshire in Bloom’s Gold Rose Award. The course sits just south of the cathedral city’s centre, easily accessed off the A1.

Thirsk Racecourse

Thirsk Racecourse in North Yorkshire – flat racing with 16 meetings annually from April to September. Idyllically situated between the Yorkshire Dales and North York Moors, Thirsk offers some of the best Yorkshire days out including top family themed days. The course sits just west of the town along the A61, easily accessed off the A1.

Wetherby Racecourse

Wetherby Racecourse in West Yorkshire – jump racing with 18 meetings annually from January to May and then from October to December. This easy access Yorkshire race course just off the A1 is deemed by many to be one of the finest jump racing courses in the North – welcome to Yorkshire’s premier National Hunt Racecourse with a rich steeplechasing heritage. Fixture Highlights come late in the season and include the Charlie Hall Meet at the end of October and the Yorkshire Christmas meet with racing at Wetherby on the 26th and 27th December!
