Weymouth offers some really enjoyable shopping experiences. The town contains antique shops, book shops, fashion retailers (vintage and new), delicatessens and ethnic shops, art galleries where you can purchase local works from local artists, and a good variety of high street names combined with some innovative local specialities. New Look, the now-nationwide chain was born in Weymouth. Weymouth caters for a variety of shopping tastes from souvenirs to classy, expensive designer goods, and from quirky retailers on the side streets to Debenhams, Peacocks and the big names (mainly located on New Bond Street, St Thomas Street and St Mary Street).
Brewers Quay shopping village is a beautifully restored Victorian brewery in Hope Square in the old harbour area which today offers a selection of eateries and emporium style outlets selling collectables, vintage furniture pieces and antiques.
Inside is an Italian restaurant, the Weymouth museum and around fifty dealers with goods on display! Popular and great for browsing, Brewers Quay currently features books, cards, vintage items, collectables, sweets, toys, hand-made local crafts, Cornish pasties and much more… and there’s even an auction house on site. The old Victorian building is Grade II listed. Beer had been brewed on this site since the thirteenth century. Exciting future development for the quay includes a D-Day museum, offices and a cafe.
