If your idea of a great holiday is a day shopping or on the beach, then a night spent in pubs, bars and clubs, well Weston-super-Mare can definitely offer what you’re looking for. But don’t discount the possibility of perhaps a night at the theatre, cinema or simply strolling along the seafront with a bag of fish and chips! And don’t forget evenings at the Grand Pier, a venue which offers everything from murder-mystery nights, to parties, gigs, festivals and much more.
The selection of bars and pubs in Weston-super-Mare is dizzyingly large, not only on the seafront, but also on the town’s main roads and back streets. Your best bet is really to walk round during the day time and pick out pubs to try later on. Alternatively, wander round and hope for the best. You’re far more likely to find something surprisingly good, than the opposite!
If you’re looking for a traditional pub on the seafront with good meals, large capacity and really nice beers, varied pub menu, and good clean facilities, The Old Colonial is comfortable and cosy. And the Dragon Inn, on Meadow Street, is a Wetherspoon pub, again with decent, consistent dining experiences, a good choice of beers, and facilities consistent with having an enjoyable family meal, in child-friendly surroundings.
Or, in the Bleadon area of the town, why not try the Anchor Inn and Restaurant? Good food, regular festivals and barbecues and a large car park.
Weston is well stocked with nightclubs. One of the biggest, and certainly the most popular, is Club Vision, only a minute’s walk from the Royal Parade and Grand Pier. Club Vision’s usual clientele consists of the younger Ibiza-goers, happy to splash around in regular foam parties, to party once a month at the You’re Only Young Once club night, or even to watch the football on a big screen in the View Bar.
You might also want to try Club Tabu if you’re over 21 and prefer the more mature club experience. It is an exclusive and elegantly furnished, sophisticated bar and nightclub with boutique champagne and cocktail bar, VIP area, funky house music and is situated away from the main clubbing area.
Or try the Belvedere if you like to get dressed up, and maybe Bar 4 (a cafe in the daytime a cocktail bar at night), for bargain cocktails!
