Southbourne Beach

A suburb of Bournemouth, Southbourne features long sandy beaches that stretch for miles. Popular Southbourne Grove is a long street lined with unusual and unique independent shops. The Green Flag award-winning Seafield Gardens are an open space just a short walk from the beach, and are a popular place for dog-walking and picnics complete with a children’s play area, bowls, tennis facilities and a Grade II Listed water tower.

You can reach Southbourne’s beach via the character Fisherman’s Walk Cliff Railway, which is the smallest funicular railway in the world at just 128 feet. The area is a quieter alternative to busy Bournemouth, offering a selection of peacefully situated, quality accommodation options within easy reach of Bournemouth’s many attractions. Welcoming B&Bs, hotels and self-catering apartments are all available in the area.
