Situated within the South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Salcombe is a picturesque harbour town with extensive waterfront, lovely sandy beaches and a great range of water activities to experience. Enjoy the dramatic scenery along the South West Coast Path or take to the water along the Kingsbridge Salcombe Ferry. Other boat trips, sea kayaking, coasteering, nature walking and dinghy hire can all be enjoyed in the town. Ferries can also take you over to the beautiful East Portlemouth beach which has shallow waters for ideal paddling and rock pools at low tide.
Salcombe has an excellent choice of stylish apartments overlooking the harbour, contemporary holiday homes for groups, period fisherman’s cottages ideal for couples and well appointed family accommodation. A good selection are also pet friendly and close to town’s lovely scenic walks.

East Portlemouth Beach
Out and About
Salcombe harbour has a great choice of seafood restaurants where you can relax and enjoy the scenery or take a stroll around the town’s range of independent shops. On your travels, you could also visit the Salcombe Maritime Museum which has a range of hands on displays, paintings, models and sea-bed treasures. There is a ‘young sailors’ corner for children and under 12’s enjoy free entry.
An afternoon at the seasonal heated outdoor pool is a great way of spending a sunny day with cold drinks and snacks purchasable onsite. The pool is normally open from the end of May to September and has lifeguards, CCTV and changing rooms.
