The airport was then the first large airport to be opened since Stansted in 1966. Located on the site of what was RAF Finningley in the 1930s and a front line bomber command base during World War II, Doncaster Sheffield Airport offers a range of budget flights to a choice of popular holiday destinations, plus cheap flights to a selection of Polish destinations.

Easily accessed off major motorway links including the M1, M62, A1 and the M18, the Airport is really easy to get to whether your coming from the North, South, East or West of the country.

A convenient Car Drop Off and Pick Up area is located in the main passenger car park, and visitors get 15 minutes free of charge (after 15 minutes short stay parking charges apply). Doncaster is just 15 minutes from Robin Hood Airport making it the closest large town. Sheffield is a mere 30 minutes and York just 45 minutes away. A dedicated bus service runs regularly to the airport from Doncaster railway station every half an hour.
