Millom Tourist Information

Adjacent to the old parish church sit the 14th century ruins of Millom Castle and birdwatchers visiting the area won’t want to miss a visit to Hodbarrow, onetime iron ore mines now the biggest coastal lagoon in the North West of England.

The village centre is home to the small Millom Folk Museum with exhibits on famous local notables such as the poet Norman Nicholson and detail on the history of iron ore mining in the area. Just a couple of miles along the coast from Millom sits Haverigg with its great family friendly and safe sandy beach. Coastal walking, cycle trails and an RSPB centre all feature in Haverigg.
