Cowdray House, Midhurst
Set in a scenic location on the River Rother, Midhurst is home to the annual Veuve Clicquot Gold Cup polo competition and two sites of historical interest. The ruins of Cowdray House, a grand Tudor manor house, lie just to the east of the town and the Victorian stately home of Cowdray Park and its 16,500 acres of grounds can also found in Midhurst. The town’s long history is also reflected in the 13th Century St Mary Magdalene and St Denys and the 15th Century coaching inn, The Spread Eagle.
