Llandeilo Tourist Information

Llandeilo on the western edge of the Brecon Beacons in Carmarthenshire is a charming historic market town with a main high street and centre brimming with old churches, specialist shops, boutiques and craft centres, tearooms, cafes, fine delis, restaurants and old inns. Popular nearby attraction is Dinefwr Castle and Country Park with onsite National Trust property Newton House. Panoramic views of the Brecons and Carmarthenshire countryside from the top of Dinefwr Castle are spectacular and the park offers a choice of pretty woodland trails and contains a deer park.

More wonderful walks and views are around Norman Carreg Cennen Castle to the south east of Llandeilo located atop of a limestone crag. Ancient prehistoric remains have been found on this site and the remains of two Roman forts have been unearthed in Dinefwr Park, evidence of ancient settlement well before the Normans in the richly resourced Tywi Valley.

A West Wales market town gem, Llandeilo is a popular tourist centre famous for its historic monuments and offers the perfect base from which to explore the Brecon Beacons, the Carmarthenshire Fans and Black Mountain. In and around the centre you’ll find a wide choice of beautiful accommodation bases including Grade Listed hotels, village B&Bs and luxury cottages.
