Isle of Man Ferry Services

Many visitors to the Isle of Man opt for scenic ferry services offered by The Steam Packet Company from Heysham, Liverpool, Dublin and Belfast. The main conventional ferry service operates all year round from Dublin, Belfast, Birkenhead and Heysham whilst the swift Manannan operates from March to November from Dublin, Belfast and Liverpool.

All boats are well equipped with a range of facilities including cafes, bars, shops and lounges, and all dock at the Sea Terminal in island capital Douglas. Ferry services offer the opportunity to bring across your own car, motorcycle and camper van. Foot passengers are also welcomed and prices are great value – look out for off peak offers.

Steam Packet Ferry Services

With journey times of between 2 hours and 45 minutes and 4 hours and 15 minutes, Steam Packet ferry services operate from Heysham, Liverpool/ Birkenhead, Belfast and Dublin. Vessels include the fast Manannan catamaran with its two cinema lounges, huge cafe bar, stylish cafe and accommodation. Fast and comfortable, the Manannan service takes just 2 hours and 45 minutes.

The Ben-my-Chree service is more leisurely with a crossing time of around 3 hours and 30 minutes from Heysham and 4 hours, 15 minutes from Birkenhead during the winter season. The Ben-my-Chree also features 4 berth cabins with en-suite, TV and tea/ coffee making facilities.

Douglas Sea Terminal

A welcoming, well serviced ferry terminal, the Douglas Sea Terminal features an on-site cafe, a travel shop open daily and extensive short and long term parking facilities. Catering for foot passengers and passengers with cars, camper vans/ caravans and motorcycles, the Sea Terminal is just minutes from Douglas town centre. Car passengers should check-in 45 minutes from departure – foot passengers should head to the Sea Terminal Departure Lounge and check-in 25 minutes before departure. Regular bus services depart just metres from the terminal building.
