Visitors to Holkham beach park up on the edge of a pine forest and a pathway leads through shady pinewoods direct to the beach (5-10 minute walk). The beach is part of the wider Holkham National Nature Reserve which features a mixed landscape of sand dunes, pinewoods, marshes, green pastures, creeks and saltings. The Norfolk Coast Path National Trail runs along the coast in the area.
