Eastleigh Tourist Information

Eastleigh sits alongside the River Itchen just north of Southampton city centre and only 10 minutes from the city’s International Airport. Major motorways the M3 and M27 are a mere 5 minute drive away putting popular tourist destinations like Winchester just to the north of Eastleigh within easy reach. The town has a rich railway heritage which is explored in the free entry Eastleigh Museum with cafe, family friendly activities and a gift shop. Today Eastleigh has its own mainline station with excellent rail links to Southampton, London, Portsmouth and Winchester. Several first class golf courses and country parks surround the town including Lakeside Country Park, a 22 hectare country park with lakes, wet meadows, woodland and a popular miniature railway.

Amenities in the area are excellent. Eastleigh town centre has a variety of cosmopolitan restaurants, inns, the Point Theatre and on the outskirts the Swan Centre, a shopping and leisure complex with a cinema, bowling, cafes, restaurants and well known high street stores. Accommodation choice includes a mix of great value B&B guest houses, usually family run with convenient free parking, internet access and a central location within walking distance of the station and town centre amenities.
