East Grinstead is one of the stops on the scenic Bluebell Steam Railway route through the Sussex Countryside and is also home to the beautiful National Trust property of Standen. East Grinstead’s excellent train links and close proximity to the M23 make it a great base for exploring the area. Enjoy beautiful walks in the nearby Ashdown Forest, home of Winnie the Pooh, or take a trip to one of East Grinstead’s best know historical landmarks, St Swithun’s Church. The Christmas carol ‘Good King Wenceslas’ was also written at Sackville College in the town in 1853.
