Coniston Inns & Coniston Brewery
Coniston is a great area in the Central Lakes for fine traditional real ale inns and wholefood lakeside cafes. Famous pubs and inns like the Black Bull Inn have played host to the likes of Wordsworth and the Romantic poets in the past! Coniston has its own Coniston Brewery, situated adjacent to the Black Bull inn, which produces legendary real ales like Bluebird bitter. Many famous people have passed through the doors of the Black Bull from Anthony Hopkins who played Donald Campbell in the 1980s film ‘Across the Lake’ to some of the Romantic poets including Wordsworth.
Family friendly Cafes in Coniston
Family friendly lakeside cafes around Coniston Water offer welcome sustenance to walkers and visitors enjoying outdoor activities and watersports on the lake. Jumping Jenny Coffee House and Licensed Restaurant at Brantwood on the eastern shoreline serves a scrumptious range of cakes, puddings and hearty soups.
