The town has some delightful old Duddon Valley inns and an excellent choice of pretty holiday cottages are available in the area. Local trekking centres offer beach riding on nearby Silecroft beach with its five miles of glorious sands. Boat trips on Coniston Water and Lake Windermere are just a short drive away and attractions including the Eskdale Railway, Muncaster Castle and Lakeside attractions on the southern edge of Windermere are all within easy reach.
Broughton’s market town centre is brimming with independent shops including an artisan village bakery and cafe, an acclaimed butchers and grocers, a filling station on Market Street and a garden centre. An information point and craft gallery sits within the central Georgian Town Hall.
