You could also enjoy caving at either of the two main caving areas, Ogof Ffynnon Ddu and Dan-yr-Ogof or enjoy a host of water sport activities at Llangorse Lake and Llyn Pontsticill. The National Showcave of Wales is also situated in the Brecon Breacons or you could try your hand at white water rafting along the River Wye.

For a more relaxing day out, take a day trip on the Brecon Mountain Railway or explore the wildlife at the National Nature Reserve Craig Cerrig. The Taff Trail is a popular route for walking and cycling in the Brecon Beacons and runs for 55 miles through the National Park. The Usk Valley walk is also very scenic and offers a path through the Black Mountains. For a family day out, enjoy a day trip to Carreg Cennen Castle which dates from the 13th Century.
