Bournemouth is a wonderful place to stay for a family holiday as there’s so much for children to do! Why not try one of Bournemouth’s theatres – the Bournemouth International Centre, or the Pavilion Centre, to see if there’s a children’s show, comedy or concert you could take the kids to. They even offer ice skating! Of course, children always enjoy a trip on a beach train, a day on the beach with their own family beach hut, or a couple of hours at the amusement arcade. Water zorbing in a giant transparent hamster ball or an afternoon at the funfair are both brilliant activities for kids, and the Russell-Cotes Art Gallery & Museum has a range of family activities including Seaside Adventure Trails.
The Kids Family Fun Festival, usually held in the Lower Gardens, offers free shows throughout most of the Summer holidays featuring magic, jesters, music and games. Bournemouth has around 2,000 acres of gardens and parks to explore. The gardens, parks and Chines are great locations for a family stroll. Alum Chine has an award-winning tropical garden and Boscombe Chine Gardens features a water play area, mini golf, a cafe and more.
