Boardmasters Newquay – August

One of the top annual events on the British Surfing Calendar and the ultimate summer beach party with the best live music and surf, Boardmasters is centred around Fistral Beach and Watergate Bay. What began as a small Newquay surfing competition has grown into a major surf/ music festival in the South West. Surfing competitions include an International Pros Men’s and Women’s Open, a Men’s Longboard Pro, a Pro Junior (under 20s) and an Under 16s mixed. The event also features a fantastic Air Show always packed with breathtaking aerial tricks.

Music and Beach Party wise, the main music arena is at Watergate Bay and what a venue with stages including the beach Main Stage hosting the headliners and the cliff top View Stage with spectacular beach backdrop. Around Fistral beach during Boardmasters it’s surfing all the way with surfing lessons available all week along with skate and BMX competitions, surf art on display in bars flanking the beach and after parties running into the early hours.

Getting Here

Great budget coach services are available for Boardmasters from Big Green Coach who offer cheap coach travel from Birmingham, Bristol, Bournemouth, Cardiff, Southampton and many more UK destinations direct to Boardmasters. Regular shuttle bus services also operate between Watergate Bay, Newquay town centre and Fistral beach during the event and you’ll find all designated parking for Broadmasters at Watergate Bay.
