Blackpool North Pier

Blackpool North Pier

Blackpool’s three fabulous piers each have their own unique appeal. Oldest pier, North Pier is one of Britain’s most beautiful piers with its wide strolling deck, theatre and pier end carousel and sun lounge. Built shortly after North Pier, Central Pier is a family favourite with fun rides, the famous Big Wheel, family bars, arcades and stalls. The last of the three to be constructed, South Pier offers a mix of family friendly rides, arcades and a family bar plus an adrenalin pumping zone with daring activities such as free-falling Skycoaster.

Historic North Pier Blackpool

North Pier is Blackpool’s oldest pier, first opened in 1863. It was designed by the great seaside architect Eugenius Birch who designed many other piers and seaside buildings around the UK in the Victorian era including Eastbourne Pier and Brighton’s famous Aquarium. The most peaceful of Blackpool’s three piers, and retaining much of its original Victorian architecture, North Pier has a enchanting carousel and sun lounge at its pier end and is home to the popular Merrie England bar, seaside shops, a Theatre and Victorian tea rooms.
