Beaminster centre

Beaminster is a charming small market town at the head of the river Brit in West Dorset, just to the north of West Bay. Around the centre are more than 200 listed buildings all in a designated conservation area. The town comes alive during its annual music festival which features jazz, folk and classical music as well as a range of exhibitions and literary events.

The Downland around Beaminster is easily accessed via a network of footpaths and trails. Beautiful stately homes with breathtaking gardens like Mapperton House, the historic home of the Earl of Sandwich, can also be found in the area. Hardy Country, William Barnes Country and the Somerset border sit close by, making Beaminster the perfect holiday or short break touring base. The Jurassic Coast is also just a short drive away and you’ll find great local vineyard tours. Activites in the area include everything from premier golf and cycling to fossil hunting.
