There’s so much to see and do in Bath that to start with a sightseeing tour might just be a good idea! A great (and restful) introduction to Bath’s sights and attractions is to take an open top bus tour around the city. Buses run an audio tour of Bath (in several languages) so you can pinpoint many of the famous sights. The tour takes just under an hour in total.
Your ticket allows you to hop on and off the bus at any of the stops around the city. So you can get the bus up to the Royal Crescent, get off and have a look at the Royal Crescent and visit No 1 The Royal Crescent Museum, walk along to The Circus and go to the Fashion Museum, then pick up the bus again at another stop to see more sights. It certainly saves your legs tramping up and down the hills!
The ticket is valid for 24 hours and there is also another tour that you can do on the same ticket to see some of the sights around Bath such as Claverton Down. The bus ticket also gives you discounts to other attractions like the Roman Baths, The Fashion Museum and The Jane Austen Centre.
There are so many tours available – some take the visitor beyond Bath to such sights as Stonehenge, while others are guided walking tours (some with commentaries) or narrowboat tours, traditional style bus tours, spooky night time tourse, and even ‘alternative tours’.
