Babbacombe Beach – dog friendly
A stunning small beach bay, Babbacombe beach is privately owned and accessible via a cliff path leading down from the cliff top Babbacombe Downs gardens. Popular with families, visitors and for weekend sailing, Babbacombe beach is a sand and shingle beach flanked by high cliffs, offering great rock pooling opportunities when the tide is out. Babbacombe beach is accessible via a very steep road, with a small car park situated at the bottom with limited parking. Dogs are welcome and facilities include a cafe, public toilets adjacent to the beach open across the summer season, diving, a promenade and a slipway (check with the Beach Cafe for permission to use the slipway).
Oddicombe Beach
Blue Flag Oddicombe beach is famously flanked by vast red sandstone cliffs and is a popular sandy beach accessed by either a steep footpath or by heritage cliff railway. Facilities include a cafe, beach hut, boat and deckchair hire, a promenade and watersports including sailing and paddleboats.
