The Buck Inn is a welcoming country pub overlooking the green in the beautiful village of Thornton Watlass which is at the entrance of Wensleydale, gateway to the Yorkshire Dales National Park. It is the ideal base from which to explore this fantastic part of the country whether you are keen walkers, cyclists, sightseers or are simply looking to relax and unwind. We welcome families and dogs, and offer fishing and golfing breaks.
The Inn is located just a short distance from the A1 making us a great place for a stop over if you are in the area. The Buck Inn is located amongst a fantastic array of charming market towns and picturesque villages including Middleham, Masham and Harrogate. Our bar and dining area is a great place for relaxing in after you have taken in the local sites and serves a range of locally brewed cask ales. All our food is made on the premises, using local suppliers wherever possible.
Our 5 bedrooms are all en suite, and include one single, and a ground floor room, which can accommodate 2 adults and up to 2 children.
Pets are welcome at £10 per stay.
En-suite family room is available from £105. En-suite single room is available from £65.
Thornton Watlass is only a few minutes drive from the A1. Leave the A1 at Leeming Bar Services and follow the road round past the services. Turn Left at T junction (A684 to Bedale) and keep going until you reach Bedale town centre. Straight over at the crossroad with Bedale High Street (signed B6268 to Masham). After 2 miles turn right (signed Thornton Watlass and the Buck Inn). Follow the road up the hill and into the village. The Buck Inn is on the village green.
