Culdene Cottage in Carnforth offers a quiet break for two. A delightful self catering detached cottage in country surroundings on a organically run smallholding situated on the slopes of beautiful Warton Crag in a designated 'area of natural beauty'. Visitors can relax and enjoy the picturesque views afforded by the prime location and relax in the spacious and comfortable furnishings. Here you are in a lovely hidden corner on the North Lancashire/Cumbria border where you can meander through pretty villages and along quiet rocky coves. There are many interesting walks and The Lancashire Long Distant Coastal walk passes through the village.
The airy cottage has an open plan living room with comfortable seating and a dining area which overlooks the fields to the back and garden to the front. The property is centrally heated throughout and has an electric fire in the living room for your additional comfort along with a flat screen TV. The kitchen is complete with cooker, microwave, washer and tumble dryer and contains a good selection of crockery and utensils. There is also cupboard by the back door which is suitable for dirty footwear and an over door dryer for hanging damp coats.
The fitted bedroom can be configured as a twin or super king size double and is furnished with fitted wardrobes, a dressing table, chair and two bedside tables. There is a separate shower cubicle in the bathroom.
The summer house garden has a gate and is secure for dogs to run around off the lead. Enjoy relaxing by the Buddha water feature and outdoor chess set. Bar billiards can be found in the heated summer house.
A walk up the field brings you to a beautiful panoramic view over Morecambe Bay, towards the lakes and nearby Yorkshire.
The accommodation is all on the ground floor and the owners are always around to help if required. Dogs welcome with prior arrangement. The cottage is non-smoking.
Check in time is after 3pm and please check out by 10am.

Warton is where a branch of the ancestors of George Washington lived, and where in the church is the Washington Coat of Arms which it is reputed inspired the design of the American Flag. The village has two inns both serving food and a Post Office. 2 miles away in Carnforth there is Carnforth Station of 'Brief Encounter' fame, and cafes, take-aways, supermarkets and inns with also a large bookshop for browsers. Within about half an hour's drive you have the well known beauty spots of the Lakes to the north, Yorkshire Dales to the east or Forest of Bowland to the south. You can be in Lancaster via one junction on the M6 for seeing the famous Castle. Kendal with it's rambling old streets, and Kirkby Lonsdale with it's Devil's Bridge tale are close by as is the seaside town of Morecambe with it's unusual Nursery Rhyme pavements and of course The Eric Morecambe Statue, also the recently refurbished Art Deco Midland Hotel.
Leave the M6 at Junction 35 take sliproad signposted Over Kellet/Kirkby Lonsdale then turn right to Carnforth passing over the motorway,through the traffic lights at the canal bridge and straight across at the lights soon passing the station on your left. Keep on the same road (2mls.) and enter Warton. Culdene sign should be visible in the trees on the left as you enter the narrow bend with no pavements. Please go up the STRAIGHT drive to the car park where we will be waiting to welcome you.
