About this Holiday Cottage

A 4* Gold Award self catering cottage in Richmond, North Yorkshire, Garden Cottage is Circa 18th century, and offers stunning accommodation on the edge of the historic market town of Richmond.  Views look across town to the Norman castle and the property is just a few minutes walk from the market place.  A pretty wildflower meadow is just behind the cottage, grazed by sheep and lambs in the spring.  Garden Cottage has an enviable position, perfect for town and country touring!  The cottage has been beautifully restored and decorated by ourselves, and is an ideal place to stay for a short break or holiday on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales.

Living Space

  • The kitchen and lounge face south over the garden.
  • Kitchen appliances include an electric cooker, fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine. (There is a freezer in the external store which is shared by the owner).
  • The lounge/dining room has French windows to the private garden and is equipped with a flat screen, digital TV and DVD player, sofas, dining table, games, jigsaws and books.
  • The Garden Cottage passageway corridor has room for boots and coats, pushchairs and paraphenalia!

Bedrooms / Bathrooms

  • Sleeping 6 in 3 bedrooms comprising: a master double with en-suite bathroom, a second double and a twin room, all of which have new beds and mattresses.
  • The beds have snuggly duvets and Egyptian cotton bedlinen, which is included in the rental price, as are fluffy white towels and bathmats.
  • The first floor bathroom is adjacent to the bedrooms and has a bath and separate shower.
  • There is a third wc and wash basin downstairs.

A covered stone flagged passage leads out to the private lawned garden, where flowers, roses, herbs, and apple trees grow.  Just the place to chat over supper after a day's sightseeing, relax with a drink and a book under the weeping willow or take a leisurely lunch al fresco.

Parking is available for 2 cars.

Other Things to Note

White cotton bedlinen, fluffy white towels and bathmats, electricity and gas are all included in the rental price.  The cottage has a washing machine room and a Freezer room (shared with owner).

We would be happy to share some of our garden crops with guests.

"Thank you for a lovely New Year stay at Garden Cottage.  This was one of the most comfortable self-catering places we've stayed in (& we've stayed in a great many!).  Flowers and Christmas tree much appreciated.  We loved the Richmond-Easby walk; driving to Grinton in heavy frost was spectacular...".  Family get-together, Canterbury and Cambridge.
