About these Holiday Flats

Perfect for couples and families, Big Tree Holiday Flats are six stylishly appointed 1 and 2 bedroom flats centrally located in Paignton.  Each flat is self-contained with its own front door out to a pretty garden and patio area.  Ample free parking is onsite and free WiFi internet access is included.  Accommodation is only half a mile from Paignton town centre, bus and train links, the harbour and the main beach.  Goodrington Sands and Youngs Park, Splashdown Quay West Water Park and the Torbay Leisure Centre are also within easy reach.   

Accommodation 

Six flats are available at competitive prices including four 1 bedroom and two 2 bedroom flats.  Five flats are within a separate block in the garden of the Big Tree House and the sixth flat (Flat 1a) is attached to the house.  All are furnished and decorated to a high standard and cater for all your self-catering needs. 

Flats 4 and 5 are ideally suited for 2 adults and 2 small children (we will accept 3 adults and 1 child, or 4 adults/2 couples).  Children are welcome and 1 free private parking space is available per flat. 

All have access to free WiFi and guests are most welcome to use the attractive garden, patio and washing lines.  Laundry facilities are also available. 

Flat 1A (Ground floor, attached to Big Tree House) – Sleeps 2 

  • Living space includes a lounge, diner and kitchen area. 1 bedroom with 2 single beds.  Ensuite shower. 
  • Central heating available from October to end of April in the lounge and bedroom. 
  • Electric heating in the lounge for the rest of the year. Patio doors open out to a cosy deck area with a table and chairs.

Flat 1 (Ground Floor) – Sleeps 2

  • This flat has a lounge/diner, a separate kitchen, 1 bedroom with 2 single beds, a shower room with a spacious shower cubicle/wahs basin and a separate wc.

Flat 2 (Ground Floor) – Sleeps 2

  • This flat has a lounge, diner and kitchen area, 1 bedroom with a double bed, an ensuite shower cubicle, wc and wash basin.

Flat 3 (Ground Floor) – Sleeps 2

  • Living space includes a lounge, diner and kitchen area, 1 bedroom with a double bed, an ensuite shower cubicle, wc and wash basin.

Flat 4 (First Floor) – Sleeps 4

  • This flat has a lounge, diner and kitchen area, 1 bedroom with a double bed, an additional TV and a second bedroom with 2 single beds. 
  • The bathroom includes a bath and shower fitment attached, a wash basin and wc.

Flat 5 (First Floor) – Sleeps 4

Living space includes a lounge, diner and kitchen area, 1 bedroom with a double bed, a second bedroom with 2 single beds, an extra TV, a shower room with a large shower cubicle, wc and a wash basin. 

Facilities

All flats are fully equipped with the following facilities:-

  • TV with Freeview (Flats 4 & 5 have two TVs with Freeview).
  • DVD players and free WiFi.
  • Comfortable beds with memory foam mattresses.
  • Kitchens with full sized cookers, fridges, microwaves, crockery, cutlery and utensils.
  • Starter essentials including tea bags, coffee, sugar sachets and milk for hot drinks on arrival.
  • Cot and highchair available free on request (please bring along your own cot bedding).
  • Hairdryers and ironing facilities.
  • Towel hire and fans can be provided on request.
  • Electricity is by £1 coin meter.
  • Oil filled electric radiator located in the lounge and in each bedroom except in Flat 1a which has central heating in the winter and an electric radiator in the lounge for the rest of the year.
  • Fan heater available in showers/ bathrooms (except in Flat 1a) and also in the kitchen of Flat 1.

Availability

During peak season the flats are available for a minimum of 1 week from Saturday to Saturday.  (Short breaks are available in peak season at full week prices). 

Off peak short breaks are offered in early and late season, with a minimum stay of 3 nights subject to availability.

Around and About

Paignton is one of three seaside towns lining beautiful horseshoe shaped Tor Bay.  Neighbouring Torquy is 5 miles to the north and Brixham is 5 miles to the south.

The attractions in Paignton including the beautiful harbour, the main beach, Pirates Bay Adventure Golf, the pier, cinema and the town’s many eateries, shops and inns are within easy reach. 

Don’t miss a trip on the Paignton & Dartmouth Steam Railway to Kingswear followed by the short ferry trip across to Dartmouth.  Other popular nearby attractions include Paignton Zoo and there are year round events and festivals in all three Torbay towns including Paignton Regatta and Children’s festival.

Goodrington beach flanked by Youngs Park to the rear and the Splashdown Quaywest Waterpark are conveniently close to the flats.  You’re also only a short distance from Torbay Leisure Centre with sporting facilities including a gym and an indoor swimming pool.

Directions

The flats are situated around half a mile from Paignton town, bus and train stations, the harbour and main beach.  

Paignton is around 25 miles from Exeter via the M5, A380 and A3022.  Travel along Paignton seafront right to the other end, passing the Apollo cinema complex to your left. 

Take a right at the mini roundabout onto Sands Road and carry on taking a left bend to the other end.  Turn left at the mini roundabout and you’ll see the Big Tree stump landmark ahead on the right. 

Take a right at the tree stump (not to the front of it as you won’t be able to get into our drive), into Fisher Street, then first left into the flats’ drive. 

For guests arriving at Paignton Station, exit and turn left, then follow the road around to the end and take a left onto Dartmouth Road.  Carry straight on along this road, cross over the mini roundabout and you’ll see the big tree stump landmark just ahead on the right.  Take a right at the stump and Big Tree Holiday Flats drive is just in front of you.
