Situated on the green in Langwathby, The Shepherds Inn is a traditional village pub close to the beautiful Pennine Way and within easy reach of Penrith. Perfect for guests exploring the northern Lake District and north Pennines, we offer a stylish choice of guest rooms with private or shared bathroom facilities, delicious home cooked food and great Cumbrian ales in the bar.
Our welcoming pub is set just a short drive from the M6 and Lanwathby train station on the Settle - Carlisle railway can be found closeby. The attractions of Carlisle are also within easy reach along with scenic walks and drives through the Yorkshire Dales National Park to the south.

A lunchtime menu is served until 5pm; choose from a delicious choice of deli rolls which are all served with salad, coleslaw and crisps. Our choice of main meals include the famous 'Wathby' mini whale, Cumberland sausage, steak 'n' ale pie, homemade lasagne, deep fried scampi, homemade chicken goujons and chicken with mushroom wine sauce. A range of vegetarian options are also available and starters such as soup with homemade bread or beer battered haggis with local black pudding and poached egg stack.
Rates start from £55 per night for our single guest room and £65 for one of our double rooms based on two sharing.
