Situated on a small farm boasting panoramic views, Tanglewood Barn in Cumbria is the perfect base for exploring the Scottish borders, Kielder Forest Park, the northern Pennines and the Solway Coast. The Barn is furnished to the highest standards throughout and sits in a secluded courtyard and boasts stunning views over the valley from every room. Families are very welcome and the property also accepts well behaved dogs by arrangement.
Local activities include cycling, kayaking, fishing on the River Esk and plenty of opportunities for walking. Explore Hadrian's Wall, local woodlands owned by the Cumbrian Wildlife Trust or Kielder Forest. Laminated walking maps are available from the owner. A great pub restaurant can be found two miles away and the attractions of Carlisle are a mere twenty minute drive from the property.
Relax in front of the log burner stove in the lounge on the plush sofas with entertainment facilities including a Smart TV, books, games and free Wi-Fi. The modern kitchen diner is superbly appointed with an electric Rangemaster, dishwasher, fridge, island with stools and plenty of electrical appliances. A family dining able offers seating for eight, and a separate utility cupboard houses the vacuum cleaner, high chair and cleaning tools. The washing machine, tumble dryer and chest freezer are housed in the garage.
The extensive lawn garden has secure fencing for dogs and there is also a patio seating area along with a kids swing. Ample parking is provided and guests are welcome to explore the local woods and meet our resident animals including rare breed pigs, two donkeys and three alpacas.
A travel cot is provided for children and the rental price includes towels, linen and loo roll.
Short breaks of three or four nights may be available at certain times of the year.
An additional £10 per night is automatically added where the total occupancy exceeds six people.
Two pets are welcome by arrangement by are not permitted in the bedrooms or on the furniture. Dogs must also be cleaned before entering the barn.
