Welcome to The Greyhound in Shap, a newly refurbished free house pub with comfortable ensuite rooms for travellers, an excellent bar and fine views over the surrounding fells. All of our guest rooms are be presented as either a double or twin as requested and four legged friends are welcome to stay too.
The A6 which runs through the village provides easy access to the wider Lake District and surrounding towns include Penrith (ten miles) and Kendal (15 miles). The Yorkshire Dales National Park and the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty are both also easily reached from Shap.
We are pleased to offer a choice of six ensuite guest rooms, some of which have the original wooden beams and stone walls. Choose from a range of double rooms with zip and link beds plus larger superior rooms. The rooms at the front of the house enjoy wonderful views over the fells.
Rates include a delicious full Cambrian breakfast. We also offer a casual dining menu with traditional pub dishes along with many fell-bred lamb dishes sourced from the surrounding farms. Our large bar serves a great choice of resident and guest ales plus well known lagers, spirits and wines.
Single occupancy stays are welcome. Check in time is after 4pm and please vacate by 10am on your departure day.
Pets are welcome to stay free of charge but must not be left unattended in guest rooms or permitted on the beds.
