About this Property

This two bedroom cottage has been lovingly restored to provide a very good quality holiday property in a fabulous village location, just a short walk from the sea and coastal footpath. This attractive property retains all the charm of a traditional stone cottage with the convenience of a modern kitchen and bathroom. The accommodation is set out over three floors with an open-plan living area on the ground floor and bedrooms and bathroom upstairs. The comfortable lounge area includes a wood burner, making this an ideal choice for cosy out of season breaks as well as family seaside holidays. A useful shed provides the perfect spot for muddy boots, sandy beach gear or secure cycle storage. There is an enclosed patio/garden at the front of the cottage and one well behaved dog is welcome.

Located in the West Dorset village of Chideock, this cottage is set just off the main coast road, providing a wonderful base from which to explore the whole area. The cottage is just a short walk from the beach at Seatown. There is also easy access to the South West Coast Path which runs along this stretch of stunning coastline. The World Heritage coast, known as the Jurassic Coast, offers opportunities for fossil hunting, walking, fishing and many other activities. Those looking for rural walks will also find some exceptional countryside footpaths very close by. There are three pubs, all serving food, within walking distance as well as a small general store and neighbouring tearooms. The West Dorset market town of Bridport and its bustling harbour at West Bay are only a 5 minute drive away, as is the lovely seaside resort of Lyme Regis. A couple of regular bus routes run through the village and along the coast in both directions. Lyme Regis 7 miles.

Terraced stone cottage on three floors. Ground floor: open-plan living room; lounge seating with wood burner, TV/DVD; dining area; fitted kitchen with electric cooker, fridge with icebox, microwave and washing machine. First floor: Bedroom 1: For the 2017 season there will be a different layout on the first floor.  The new refurbishment will have a Twin bedroom and separate W.C.  Please note the beamed ceiling height in these two bedrooms is restricted to approximately 6'1". Second floor: Bedroom 2 with double bed (vaulted ceiling). Bathroom with shower over the bath and w.c. Outside: Enclosed patio/garden with furniture. Storage shed with tumble dryer.

Facilities and services
Electric heating and first basket of logs included. Additional logs can be purchased locally. Bed linen and towels included. Please bring own beach towels. Travel cot and highchair available - please request at time of booking if required. Wireless internet access included.

Off-road parking for one car. Additional public car parking 5 minutes walk. Shop: 200 metres. Pub: 50 metres. Beach: Seatown - less than 1 mile. One well-behaved dog welcome. Arrival 3.00pm - departure 10.00am. Short breaks can be booked for this property only when there is late availability. Arrival day for weekly bookings Friday.
