There are fantastic sandy beaches at East Portlemouth, just 3 miles away and from there you can catch a passenger ferry across to the vibrant town of Salcombe, which is packed with traditional inns, restaurants serving locally caught seafood and interesting shops selling anything from curios to fashionable clothing. The pretty market town of Kingsbridge at the head of the estuary caters for all your holiday essentials and you can visit the historic naval port of Dartmouth, passing through Torcross with its nature reserve and three miles of shingle beach on the way.
