Formerly a pair of miner's cottages, Lower Goosemoor Cottage is a stunning large property in a beautiful Exmoor valley location only a 10 minute drive from Wheddon Cross village. The cottage is surrounded by charming grounds and is warm and welcoming with WiFi via Satellite broadband. A generous welcome pack is available to guests on arrival - please advise us of any allergies when booking. The location in the south of Exmoor National Park is surrounded by lovely walks and you're within easy reach of some of Exmoor's most famous beauty spots including Dunkery Beacon, Tarr Steps and the Exe valleys. Nearby East Lyn was the setting for Blackmore's classic novel Lorna Doone.
Stunning gardens at the cottage are extensive. The private grounds have a pretty stream running through them and there is an arbour, seating, grassed areas and even a small wood. Please note that small children will need supervising in the grounds.
Towels and bed linen are provided and a welcome pack is available on arrival. Electric and heating is fully inclusive in the booking price and a large basket of logs for the log burner is in the sitting room ready for your arrival.
Ample parking is adjacent to the cottage. Sorry no pets please and the cottage is unsuitable for less mobile guests and wheelchair users. Accommodation is non-smoking throughout.
Weekly bookings have a Saturday changeover day and arrival is from 4pm, departure by 10am.
A village shop, pub, post office and garage are only a 10 minute drive away in Wheddon Cross which is thought to be Exmoor's highest village.
Dunkery Beacon from which there are spectacular panoramic views of Exmoor is around 3 miles from Wheddon Cross village and the cottage is well placed for visiting the medieval village of Dunster just 6 miles away.
Tiverton to the south and the county town of Taunton are also within easy reach.
