One of a selection of family run cottages at luxury Swansea Valley Holiday Cottages between the Brecon Beacons and the Gower Peninsula, The Cart Shed sleeping 6 was designed by award-winning Rio Architects. The property was formally the estate's cart house, in Welsh Ty Gambo. Living space has an 'upside down' design with three downstairs bedrooms and a stunning contemporary wet room. Luxurious modern features are combined with period features which include a stone magic tree actually built in one of the walls! Welsh themed artwork by acclaimed artists is throughout and The Cart Shed is eco friendly, heated by biomass.
Free WiFi and free HDTV are also inclusive along with a private garden and parking. The Plas Cilybebyll Estate surrounding the cottage is spread across hundreds of acres of grounds and is within easy reach, just 5 miles off the M4. A 24 hour supermarket is conveniently located within 2 miles of the property in the town of Pontardwe and a great gastro pub is situated in the neighbouring village of Alltwen.
The cottage has its own private garden and parking area to the rear, and this is where you'll find the unique magic stone tree in the wall. A BBQ and pizza oven are also available.
Unique features can be found throughout this 5 Star cottage including a display coffee table with old artefacts and curiosities unearthed by metal detectorists on the farm.
The mobile phone signal is good in the area, and guests are welcome to pre-order groceries from the nearby supermarket ready for arrival if they wish.
Additional facilities include an information folder packed with lots of ideas on local activities and things to do nearby.
Guests staying in The Cart Shed have access to a hundred acres of private grounds on the estate and the Plas Farm Trail begins right at your cottage door! A short farm road also leads directly from the cottage alongside the banks of the River Clydach into a private bluebell wood.
Our nearest hamlet is Cilybebyll which is within 1 mile of the estate along a pretty winding country road. The small village or Rhos with a post office, convenience store and fish and chips take away is 1 mile away via a country road.
The city of Swansea and the M4 motorway are just 10 miles away and a great gastro inn can be found in the neighbouring village of Alltwen.
Great mountain biking is available at nearby Afan Forest and Bike Park Wales and you're only 20 minutes from the spectacular Swansea Bay coastline.
The Brecon Beacons are only 10 miles away and the Gower Peninsula is just 15 miles away. Both are within easy day trip driving distance.
