Badger's Den is one of a selection of quality farm cottages at Linskeldfield Farm near Cockermouth and Keswick in the Northern Lakes. Furnished to a high standard and with stunning views of the surrounding open countryside, Badger's Den is perfect for couples and our less mobile guests with living space all on one level. Complimentary use of facilities at a nearby luxury spa are available during your stay and a choice of walking, cycling and climbing opportunities are available in the surrounding area. We also have a games room and our own nature reserve and tarn on the farm which guests are welcome to enjoy.

Dogs and other family pets are welcome at Linskeldfield for a small extra charge. We have a range of facilities to ensure a comfortable stay for your pet including undercover kennels, outside dog showers with hot and cold water, feeding and drinking bowls and freezer space for feed storage. Lots of pamper services for dogs and pet friendly attractions, shops, pubs and walks can be found in the local area.
Children are warmly welcomed - we understand the needs of young families and offer a range of family facilities available free of charge.
A communal patio area is outside with ride-on toys and a wooden play house, and a field nearby has goal posts and a play tower. A fantastic choice of attractions and activities surround the farm. Nearby attractions include the Lakes Distillery where you can take a tour and sample their range of fine malt whiskies, vodkas and gins.
The bustling market towns of Cockermouth and Keswick with their many fine restaurants, inns, independent shops and arts centres are within easy reach.
Local activity opportunities include cycling, walking, fishing, golf and horse riding. Open countryside surrounds the farm and it's a gentle walk to the medieval church at Isel, and on to the next village of Sunderland. A wide network of public footpaths, bridleways and ancient 'lonnings' heading to the shores of Bassenthwaite Lake surround us.
Guests can also take a pleasant stroll around our onsite tarn and the cross-country Reivers Cycle Route passes through our farm.
Each cottage has an information pack on 8 local walks created by our parish council featuring leaflets, maps and information on key features along the walks.

Leave the M6 at Junction 40 (Penrith) and take the A66 west first exist. Continue along the A66 towards Keswick. Go past the first turning for Keswick and continue to the next rounadabout. At the roundabout take the third exit signed for Carlisle (A591).
Continue along this road until you come to the Castle Inn Hotel on the left. Carry on and take the next left signed for Sunderland and Isel. Follow this road to a T-junction and take a right turn.
At the next junction take a right signed for Sunderland. Linskeldfield Holiday Cottages are located 500 yards further along on the right.
For visitors coming from Carlisle, take the A595 heading towards Cockermouth. At Bothel take a left onto the A591. Carry on for 1km (1/2 mile), then take the next right signed for Sunderland.
Follow the road through the village and carry on for another 1/2 mile, then take the first track on the left signed for Linskeldfield Holiday Cottages.
