About this Holiday Chalet

Situated in Glan Gwna Country Park in North Wales, Number 84 Glan Gwna is a family friendly two bedroom chalet set just two miles from Snowdonia National Park and Caernarfon. Additional sleeping space is available on a double sofa bed in the main living area.  Peacefully situated overlooking the lake, the chalet is the ideal base for outdoor activity holidays, dog lovers and families looking for easy access to the area's award winning range of beaches.

The Poolside Centre has been refurbished and will continue to have the improved management that was upgraded in 2018. There is an adults only area and the rest of the area is family friendly. The bar meals are good and portions are generous.


This stylish chalet has an open plan living area with wood flooring, leather sofas seating 5 and a dining suite seating six.  The modern kitchen is fitted with a good range of appliances including a full size electric cooker, a mid height fridge freezer, a Slow cooker, a large family toaster and a microwave. A sofa bed for up to two people can also be found in the main living area.

The bedrooms are presented as two double and  the bedrooms share use of a family bathroom with a bath and an overhead shower.

A double sofa bed is available in the main living area.

Please bring along your own bed linen and towels.

Other facilities at the chalet include a TV, DVD player, iron and ironing board and hair dryer.

Guests can also relax on the furnished decked veranda which offers lovely views over the fishing lake.

Site Facilities

  • Licensed recently refurbished Poolside Centre serving excellent food with a lounge bar, family areas and a quiet adults only lounge which is a real sun trap and has access out to the pool area.
  • Non commercial and free WiFi.
  • Some entertainment only in school holidays.

  • Small shop with basics.  Newspapers, milk and bread can all be ordered.
  • Route 66 Cafe with a good menu, takeaway pizza and other food available in the evenings.
  • Dog walks on site on the lead or by the River Seiont off lead.
  • New laundry onsite.
  • Electricity is by metre.
  • Fishing permits to purchase for the fishing lake.

Other Things to Note

There is space for a cot and high chair if you wish to bring them. Heating is via electric heaters. Please bring your own bedlinen and towels.


A 2 night minimum stay applies EXCEPT IN SCHOOL HOLIDAYS WHEN A 7 NIGHT MINIMUM STAY IS REQUIRED.  Up to three small/ medium size dogs are welcome by prior arrangement for other dog combinations. The enclosed veranda is 1m high with a three metre drop.

Check in time is after 3pm. Please note that the chalet is set on a family friendly park so parties/ events and noise after 10.30pm is prohibited.

We have another two bedroom chalet across the Fishing Lake which can be booked alongside No 84 to accommodate extended family groups. Approx. 5 minutes’ walk and you can see it from Number 84.

A cleaning service can be booked at an extra charge if you are staying for two weeks or more. Or if you just wish to have the Chalet spruced up.

Around and About

The chalet is situated just two miles from Caernarfon and within easy reach of other North Wales towns such as Bangor. Guests can also enjoy a day out to the Isle of Anglesey, the beaches of the Llyn Peninsula, the North Wales Climbing Centre, High Ropes and Europe's longest Zip Wire or the 'Go Below' Cavern. A horse riding centre can be found two miles away and there are three mountain railways within easy reach. An amazing range of walks and outdoor activities are also located in nearby Snowdonia National Park.

Sea fishing and boat trips can also be found in the surrounding area and the nearby estuary is ideal for fishing or nature watching trips. The award winning beach at Dinas Dinlle, which is dog friendly, is set a short drive away.


From Bangor and the North Wales Expressway A55 continue west at the Menai Junction towards Caernarfon on the A487.

Coming into Caernarfon you will as you pass Morrison's supermarket on the right hand side.  The road takes a turn to the Left uphill as an inner one way system. Continue straight on towards Caeathro/Waunfaur/ Beddgelert on the A4085.  The park is just under two miles on the left hand side as a stone entrance.
