The ultimate home away from home, Intake Cottage between the villages of Low Row and Gunnerside provides comfortable accommodation with great facilities and spectacular views of the surrounding Yorkshire countryside.
The interior of Intake Cottage is bursting with period features and character, with flag stone floors, beamed ceilings and an impressive 18th Century cast iron fire place. Modern entertainment systems including a TV, DVD player, CD player and radio are also available.
The shaker style kitchen is well-equipped with a range of facilities and modern appliances, including an oven, hob, microwave, kettle, toaster, fridge and freezer. There are original stone pantry shelves and a traditional Belfast sink.
There are two charming bedrooms at the cottage. The master bedroom has a double bed, ample wardrobe space and stunning views across Yorkshire Dales.
The second bedroom has one 3 foot single bed, as well as a pull out guest bed, a chest of drawers and a wardrobe. There is also a family bathroom.
Bed linen, towels, duvets and pillows are all provided, and we also offer electric blankets for the colder months in winter.
One of the best features of this cottage is the flagged rear garden, which has a pretty summerhouse and outdoor furniture. To the front, there is a raised garden overlooking the attractive wild flower meadow.
Five nights minimum stay from Mid-May to Mid-September. At all other times (excluding Xmas, Easter and Bank Holidays we offer short breaks of 3 or 4 nights). Prices range from £190 to £265. Please contact us direct for details and best prices.
Check in from 3pm, check out by 11am. We ask that 50% of the full cost is paid in order to secure your booking, with the remaining amount to be paid 30 days prior to your scheduled arrival. We accept direct bank transfer and cheques.
Intake Cottage is ideally situated in a tranquil, rural location, yet is close to The Punch Bowl Inn, the local pub which serves traditional ales and tasty home cooked food.
A further 30 minutes away is Richmond, a Georgian market town home to its very own historic castle dating back to 1086. There are also two cinemas, a Georgian Theatre and several cafes.
Other nearby historicl attractions that you may wish to visit during your stay include Raby Castle, Barnard Castle, Egglestone Abbey and Bolton Castle.
