About these Holiday Lodges

Foxhills Hideaways are four Scandinavian style holiday lodges in a beautiful setting on the western edge of the North York Moors National Park.  Perfect for families, couples and outdoor activity getaways, the lodges are just 3 miles from the market town of Thirsk and Sutton Bank visitor centre in the North York Moors.  The peaceful village of Flixkirk sheltered by the Hambleton Hills and a great inn serving fine food and drink are within walking distance.  We're also just a short drive from the Yorkshire Dales.

Surrounded by open countryside and with fabulous rural views, Foxhills Hideaways are the perfect relaxing retreat.  We are a friendly family run establishment living on site in ‘Foxhills’ the house, set in 8 acres.  Pets stay free of charge, with plenty of space for the dogs to run free and scenic walks direct from your front door.  A car is recommended to explore local villages, market towns, castles, stately homes, gardens and trips to nearby York and the coast.

  • Four Scandinavian style, secluded holiday lodges - all with 2 bedrooms, sleeping 4 guests.
  • Lodges are spread out amongst fir trees.
  • Each Lodge is completely private, separated from one another by attractive shrubs and trees.
  • Open verandahs at the front of Lodges lead into open plan living space.
  • Lounges feature comfortable seating, a digital TV with Freeview channels and a DVD player.
  • Well equipped high spec kitchens contain built-in cookers, a microwave and a fridge.
  • Two bedrooms in all Lodges include a double and a bunk bedroom.
  • Each Cabin has its own small BBQ.

Around and About

  • The Carpenters Arms serving great food and drink is just around the corner from Foxhills.
  • A wide choice of fine restaurants and real ale inns are in nearby villages and market towns.
  • Thirsk in the heart of Herriot Country is just 3 miles away - home to the World of James Herriot attraction.
  • We're only 3 miles from Sutton Bank, one of the North York Moor's flagship visitor centres with local walk to the famous White Horse of Kilburn.  The centre has six mapped walks from its doors.
  • York, Castle Howard, and the North York Moors Railway are within easy reach.
  • Tour the North York Moors and Dales castles, ruined monasteries and stately home - Fountains Abbey, Rievaulx and Helmsley are a short drive away.

Felixkirk is tucked away in the heart of North Yorkshire, easily accessible only three miles from Thirsk and the A19 and only seven miles from the A1.  Head for the A170 (Helmsley/ Scarborough) avoiding Thirsk town centre.  Turn left in 0.5 miles to Felixkirk.  Go through the village, past The Carpenters Arms pub and the church.  Then turn left in approximately 100 metres to Kirby Knowle (don't turn right up the hill).  Foxhills is then 100 metres on your left.
