Situated in the picturesque town of Kendal on the edge of the Lake District National Park, Beech House provides contemporary and stylish accommodation with delicious locally sourced breakfasts.
The bed and breakfast is only a short stroll from the town centre with its array of shops and eateries and we are also perfectly located for those wanting to explore the breathtaking Lake District. We have a small car park/ parking permits for guests and free Wi-Fi is available throughout the guest house.
Our five boutique bedrooms are tastefully decorated throughout with luxury en-suite bathrooms. Each room is uniquely presented and complete with essentials including hairdryers, luggage racks, TVs, complimentary toiletries, refreshment trays and kettles for your comfort.
Our rooms are all doubles with single occupancy available at a reduced price.
Low Tenterfell, High Tenterfell and the Garden Room are our classic double rooms. Our two deluxe rooms – Greenside and The Penthouse - have additional space with a comfortable seating areas and large bathrooms.
Greenside has a luxury roll top bath and The Penthouse has views across the nearby fells and a book case with a range of books for you to enjoy.
Breakfasts are sourced locally and served each morning in our dining room. Guests are welcome to chose from a Full English or a range of lighter cooked options each morning. A buffet of cereals, toasts and beverages are available. We are able to cater for special dietary requirements with prior arrangements.
Beech House has a small car park to the back of the property and we can also provide parking permits for guests throughout their stay with us.
Each bedroom is made up for your arrival with luxury bed sheets and fluffy towels. All rooms have full central heating.
Perfectly situated in the heart of South Lakeland, Beech House provides a great base to explore the area. Kendal itself is a wonderful market town steeped in history with its hilltop castles and range of museums. We are only a short walk into town where you will find a range of restaurants, quirky local stores and the nationally acclaimed Brewery Arts Centre.
Kendal is well known as the gateway to the Lake District National Park, being only a 15 minute drive from Windermere and Bowness. This area of outstanding natural beauty offers magnificent mountain ranges, glistening lakes and some of the most breathtaking walking and cycling routes in the country.
Weekends are subject to a minimum stay of 2 nights. Please note that we cannot accommodate children or pets.
Check in is available after 4pm and the room must be vacated by 11am on the day of departure.
DIRECTIONS FROM THE SOUTH
From the M6 or A65 - at the roundabout where the M6 (Junction 36) meets A65 from Skipton follow signs for Kendal (8 miles approx).
Follow signs for Kendal South & Town Centre. At the second set of traffic lights turn left (look out for antique fire place shop). Follow this road, Gillingate to the cross roads at the top, Beech House is facing the cross roads on the opposite right hand corner.
DIRECTIONS FROM THE NORTH
From the M6 turn off at Shap, junction 39. Turn right off the slip road & then left at the junction, on to A6, following signs for Kendal (approx 12 miles).
As you enter Kendal head towards the town centre, turn right at the mini roundabout passing in front of the County Hotel.
Go straight on at all the traffic lights and follow the road round a sharp right hand bend to join Windermere Rd. Follow the road up the hill, look out for signs for the Golf Course on left. Turn left onto Queens Rd opposite a corner shop.
Follow along this road over many speed bumps to the crossroads at the end where the road has become High Tenterfell.
From the crossroads Beech House is on your left and our car park is just behind you.
