About this Holiday Park

Nestled in a beautiful woodland setting on a traditional Lakeland farm, Church Stile Farm and Holiday Park in Wasdale occupies a stunning valley location in the Western Lake District and is only a few miles from the Cumbrian coastline.

We are a family and pet friendly holiday park with accommodation options including hard standing and grass camping pitches with electric hook-ups, luxury static caravans and our superb glamping option – The Shepherds Huts.

Facilities onsite include disabled access toilet blocks with showers, a children’s play area, laundry rooms, washing up areas and campers can park for free onsite.

We have three caravans sleeping between 4 and 6.  Both have full central heating, shared family bathrooms with shower facilities and fully fitted self-catering kitchens with a fridge, freezer and microwave.

  • The Herdwick is a luxury 6 person caravan complete with two bedrooms (one with en-suite) and a double pull out sofa.  There is a 36 inch TV with Freeview and DVD player.
  • The Swaledale and The Cheviot are both pet friendly caravans and sleep 4 people in two bedrooms.  There is a 15 inch TV with Freeview and DVD player for entertainment.

Shepherds Huts (Glamping)

Our hand crafted Shepherds huts are a popular glamping choice - providing a 16th Century alternate to tent camping.  There is space next to each hut for pitching a tent and both huts have their own BBQ and firepit with outdoor furniture.

These romantic and cosy huts include a comfortable sofa bed, wood burning stove, rechargeable lanterns, cups, plates, kettle and utensils.Bed linen is provided but please bring your own towels, torches and food (and a cool box for summer).

The huts have access to a nearby toilet block with showers and laundry facilities.

Camping Pitches

Our camping pitches are set on 7 acres of land with pitches for up to 70 tents, hard standing pitches for camper vans and 17 electric hook-up points.

We recommend booking electric hook-up pitches in advance to avoid disappointment. Cars can be parking next to your pitch and the area has its own fully equipped shower block with disabled facilities and a laundry room.

Around and About

Wasdale is one of the most striking scenic valleys in the Lake District National Park and is home to England’s deepest lake, highest mountains and smallest church. The area is a hub for outdoor activities giving plenty of advantages to enjoy walking, climbing, cycling and mountain biking and kayaking opportunities.

Whist we boast a beautiful location in the Lakes, we are also only 7 miles from the seaside town of Seascales and the Cumbrian coastline’s shingle and sand beaches.

From the South

Leave the M6 at Junction 36. Follow signs to Barrow-in-Furness and Ulverston (A590). Before reaching Ulverston turn right onto the A5092 at Greenodd (Sign posted Western Lake District, Whitehaven and Workington). The A5092 merges with the A595 and continue on this road following signs for Whitehaven/Workington. A few miles north of Ravenglass you will come to the village of Gosforth. Turn right into the village. Follow signs for Nether Wasdale (approx 3.5 miles). The turning to Church Stile Holiday Park and Campsite is immediately beyond the small church on your left.

From the North

Leave the M6 at Junction 40 and take the A66 towards Keswick and Cockermouth. At Cockermouth take the A5086 signposted Egremont. The A5086 joins the A595 and follow this south past Egremont. A few miles south of the village of Calderbridge you will come to the village of Gosforth and turn left into the village. Passing through the village follow signs to Nether Wasdale as above.

From the East

From Ambleside take the A593 towards Coniston and then head towards Eskdale over Wrynose Pass and Hardknott Pass. Beware it is a single track road with passing places but the scenery is stunning.
