About this Hotel

The family owned and managed Bridge House Hotel in Grasmere is situated in two acres of peaceful woodland gardens, right beside the River Rothay. It's the perfect escape for walkers and there's a new route to be taken every day. The hotel is also ideally situated for exploring the Lake District National Park, Hawkshead, Coniston, Ambleside, Windermere and Keswick.

Bridge House is open 11 months of the year and equally inviting for families, couples and friends.

Bedrooms / Bathrooms

There are 18 en-suite rooms in total and and each features tea/coffee making facilities, Egyptian cotton sheets, luxurious towels, a Freeview TV, telephone and hairdryer.

Room 1 - Small double on the ground floor. Overlooks the car park, gardens and a giant cedar tree

Room 2 - Superior ground floor room overlooking the River Rothay. Can be arranged as a double, twin or family room

Room 3 - Similar to Room 2, can also be arranged as a double, twin or family room

Room 4 - Has its own patio and overlooks the river. Available as a double, twin or family room

Room 5 - First floor small double room. Features views of the village rectory

Room 6 - Double room on the first floor with views of the river

Room 7 - Superior room with views of Helm Crag

Room 8 - Spacious double, twin or family room that overlooks the river

Room 9 - Superior double room with a hand carved, king size four poster bed

Room 10 - The largest room in the hotel. Features a four poster and views of the garden

Room 11 - Large bedroom that overlooks the garden. Like many others it can be arranged as a double, twin or family room

Room 12 - Superior double room featuring a king size, four poster bed

Room 13 - Superior double room with four poster bed and large sash window that overlooks the garden

Room 14 - Ideal for romantic couples. Superior four poster room with views of the garden

Room 15 - Superior double room that gets plenty of light from the Georgian sash windows

Room 16 - Double room with garden views

Room 17 - A double room on the top of the hotel. Full of character

Room 18 - Often referred to as the 'nutcracker suite'. Large enough for a family

Breakfast and Dinner

Guests can enjoy a traditional full English breakfast or a choice of tasty alternatives to set them up for the day.

Dinner is typically served from 6.30 - 8.30pm with last orders needing to be in by 8pm. The table d'hôte changes daily and special requests can be catered for. There's also plenty of choice for vegetarians and a great range of gluten-free options too. A children's menu is also available.
